Governance

AM&G is governed by its Board of Trustees, some of whom live in the UK, some in the US. The trustees meet four times each year, normally in Bath (thrice) and London.Trustees also serve on three sub committees:  Audit & Finance, Exhibitions & Collections, and People & Culture, advising on policy, exhibitions, strategic planning, capital projects, salaries and senior appointments,..   Suggest add link to website list of Trustees.

A second Board comprises the directors of the Halcyon Foundation in New York City. The Halcyon Foundation was established by AM&G’s founder Dr Dallas Pratt to provide on-going financial support to AM&G. The Foundation liaises with AM&G and helps ensure its future sustainability.

In common with most independent museums in the UK, AM&G is a registered charity.

How we are set up

We have an effective team in place to support the smooth running of AM&G. There are three key teams across the organisation: Collections & Public Engagement, Business & Development, and Estate & Gardens.
These three teams intersect and interact with each other in a variety of ways. The Leadership Team meets weekly; its focus is both strategic and operational, looking at current performance as well as setting the direction of AM&G over the long term and making decisions about how we achieve what we need to do to remain successful.

The Leadership Team (LT) comprises the Director, Collections & Public Engagement Director, Business & Development Director, Head of Finance, Chief Curator, Head of Estates, Head Gardener, USA Development Director, Head of Visitor Experience, Marketing & Communications Manager, Fundraising & Development Manager, and Museum Co-Ordinator.
